Official IBA certification, online.

Origin delivers official IBA certification online, in partnership with the International Bartenders Association. Your staff train on the official curriculum, pass the assessments, and earn a credential the industry recognises wherever they take it.

What the certification is.

The International Bartenders Association is the body behind the official IBA cocktail list — the canon of classics bartenders are measured against around the world. It has set the standard for professional bartending for generations, through its national member guilds and international competitions.

The certification follows the official IBA syllabus, step by step: bartending fundamentals and responsible service, the classic cocktail list, specialisations, and bar management. It ends in an official IBA credential, not a platform-branded diploma.

How the online certification works.

  1. Study the official curriculum

Lessons and quizzes follow the IBA syllabus, in the browser on any device. Staff study at their own pace, a module at a time, between shifts rather than instead of them.

  2. Pass the assessments

Knowledge checks run through every module, and the certification closes with a final assessment. Nothing is granted for attendance; the credential means the material is held.

  3. Receive the certification

The certificate is official IBA certification, issued through Origin's partnership with the association, and carries a verification code anyone can check.

Afterwards, Munin, the retention engine inside Origin, keeps specs and technique remembered with short reviews timed to the moment they start to fade.

Why it matters for a career.

Bartending skill travels; proof of it usually does not. A house certificate means little at the next venue, but an IBA credential is recognised by the industry rather than by a single employer. It moves with the bartender — to the next bar, the next city, the next country.

For venues, that is the point. A path that ends in a real certification gives good people a reason to join and a reason to stay, and it tells guests the person building their drink trained to an international standard.

Run it for the whole team.

The certification lives inside Origin's hospitality platform, so a venue can assign it alongside its own onboarding, menu, and food-safety training. Managers see who is certified, who is mid-course, and who needs a nudge, and recertification reminders go out before anything lapses.
